Isn't it time that America realized that Mardi Gras can be more than just a !

Question: Louisiana doesn't have a monopoly on drunken revelry and the resulting misdemeanor arrests. ANY street can be Bourbon Street.

Except Sesame Street, of course. That would just be freaky.

Dude, every bar in Iowa celebrates it. If Iowans are celebrating it, the rest of the country knows and has probably known for a few decades.

Yeah, thanks to the internet, we're only about a year behind rather than 10.

mardi gras is a french thing and its not about beads and boobs its originally about the catholics...interesting huh?

they have a mardi gras here in Galveston Texas and its been going on for 2 weeks

Mardi Gras is big here in Northwest Florida...we have days of parades and parties....it's so much fun :)

Galveston Mardi Gras is soon.

Good thought, Bill. I think they should get to keep the monopoly a few more years in case there is an outside chance it might help them to actually get it back together down there!

Then it wouldn't be special

You are so right.
Personally I welcome a large party where drunken revelry is the norm.

I can't speak for other states, but here in Florida many, many cities celebrate Mari Gras. And, FYI Mardi Gras originated in Mobile, Alabama, not N.O.

Well, I'm wearing my beads today and I live in California, born and raised. I also know someone in Idaho who is also wearing his beads. Slowely the US will awake.

YES! when will it catch on all over America.
Your street could be Bourbon Street. Let's have a parade.
Show me something Mister

Well, my school obviously thinks so. There are Mardi Gras decorations everywhere....and I don't even live in Louisiana, let alone New Orleans.

Dallas celebrates Mardi Gras. I do not think it is as easy to show your boobs here though because there are cops lined up in front of the crowds.

St Louis has 200,000- 400,000 every year in the Soulard neighborhood

its about tradition and its become a big part of new Orleans culture.... spreading it out would devalue mardi gras

and besides new Orleans needs that tourist money now more than ever

Yay I want Mardi Gras in Florida!

Dude, Mardi Gras is celebrated in towns all over the south. There's one in my hometown, Monroe, Louisiana. While I was living in southern Mississippi, we'd always go to the parades in Gulfport and Biloxi. It's HUGE in Mobile Alabama too.

Mardi Gras is NOT limited to New Orleans!!!!

Wassammatta, you don't want to see Bert and Ernie's titts?
