Please help... the woman is going to bite my face off?!
Question: I have an eight o clock class with a very strict instructor, and today, for the first time ever, I slept through my alarm and missed it.
I can't just tell her the truth because she will get very snotty and ridicule me in front of the whole class. Every day she gets extremely uppity with whatever unfortunate soul might have gotten stuck in traffic or coughed up a kidney the day before.
I can't tell her that I was sick, either. Although I am sick, I've been in class every single day... plus I have a class that I will definitely be attending this afternoon. If I were sick, then I would have had to write an official memo and walk it over to her office to explain to her why I couldn't be there.
She already hates me. I have attended all of my other classes and been there on time, doing just exactly what I'm supposed to do. But for some reason unbeknown to me, she snipes at me every day.
What can I say when she demands an explanation tomorrow morning?

you were up all night with toothache and managed to get an emergency appointment at the dentists
and you are being really brave attending classes for the rest of the day despite your discomfort
if you dont mind tempting fate.........................
Tell her the truth, hang your head as she belittles and berates you, then take your seat and try not to be late again. It is probably easier than coming up with a believable lie. Good luck.
tell her the truth and deal with it. there are much worse things to have to go through in life. I am like you, I hate missing things. Even worse, I can't stand being late. I would rather not be there then be late....Besides, always remember. Those who can, do. Those who can't, they teach. I had people shooting at me and things blowing up around me for a year. If I can handle that...you can handle this....woman.
You might as well tell her the truth. Any thing else you tell her she won't believe and will really rip your face off.
