Poll: This one for the men?!

Question: Do you like Chick Flicks? I really enjoy them. Just saw Atonement what a great film. I am a big fan of Jane Austen. I do not however like silly romantic comedies. But like sweeping romance movies I just love. Remains of the Day is one of my favorite movies of all time. And Merchant and Ivory are great film makers!

N.
freaking
O!!!!!!!

1) no explosions
2) no shooting
3) no cool psychological plot twists
4) no fight scenes
5) no car chases
6) the female lead is almost always a single mother ( trying to surive in a man's world and never mind all the affirmative action)
7) even if the story message is to look below the surface she still somehow "earns" the "hot guy"
8) it's always parental issues
9) too much therapy
10) they men they beat are all the same fat white numbwit. on the rare occasion he's their equal she sleeps with him, even if she's married and still never admits he may be RIGHT
11) the women NEVER admit they're wrong without laying on a guilt trip or backing it up with some long winded emotional story, the point being your supposed to let them off the hook
12) life's a mess and your being kicked out of your apartment, skyrocketing debt and no money in the bank? by all means a baby is just the thing to solve all your problems, especially because that means your jerk boyfriend is SURE to change and bail you out
13) let the men fix the cars, pay the bills, take care of the lawn and do the plumbing. women have to do the really important work of investing and managing relationships through long hours of meaningful conversations over coffee.
14) men soldier on in silence. the women are belleaguered suburban warriors who are underappreciated and never mind the over complicating the daily routine and overwhelming themselves. we all know who's fault it is.

guy movies: have a problem? solve it.deal with it. shoot it. chase it. blow it up. kick it's butt. next case..
