Well from experience you should use barettes or ponytail holders. The paperclips tend to rust and pull on your hair more. I do hear that paperclips make good utensils to do a weave.

I'm kinda fond of braids.
Go to osco drug or a phamacy they will have the lovely little rubber bands for the braces they are tiny, cute and come in an assortment of colours.
