Good job it wasn't doughnuts you were making!

I remember the one about Fanny Craddock and Johnny ending the show by saying "Thanks for watching and may all your doughnuts turn out like Fanny's"?

I still laugh at it!

Sprinkling hundreds and thousands and sugar on top doesnt help :-)

no

What's your recipe, a few more details would help.

The recipe book is upside down....hahaha

Are they for the Yorkshire Ripper?

Make sure the batter is v cold, make sure the oven is v hot and then don't open the oven once they're in, otherwise they don't rise.
i love yorkshire puddings.

Either the oven or the fat not hot enough, or you opened the door while they were cooking - fatal error!

did you have your oven hot,or you did not open the oven before they were ready.

Just don't add fairies!
Cheers

Hi,i always make big yorkshire puds & love then soggy.
If you cook them on gas mark 7 they should rise.i always use half milk & half water also you can leave them stand after mixed for half an hour.Good Luck
PS/ Your better off making your own
8ozs of plain flour
half teaspoon of water
half pint of milk & water
1 egg
mix flour & salt, make a hollow in centre of bowl add egg, stir with wooden spoon slowly add liquid untill the flour is worked in then beat well & add remaining liquid.I use my own judgement on amount of liquid used.Pre heat oven Gas Mark 7 or 425F make sure fat is red hot
Good Luck

make sure when you put the batter in the oil it sizzles. because you need the oil very very hot to get a nice shaped batter

Send them to our Tinkz.

Hrmm, possibly - you used self raising flour instead of plain....the oven wasn't hot enough....the tin and oil weren't hot enough before adding the batter....the door was opened during cooking.

the oil has to be really really hot, i always find that adding a bit bicarb soda helps to...just a little tho. i love yorkies, can i have one? lol

Can I have one please

Well, wazzup?, it Said Use 2 Eggs, cant you count?.
Peace. love.Jo.xx

Cheaper to make your own! 4oz plain flour, pinch salt, 2 eggs, dash of milk and mix with very cold water. Whisk the eggs and add to the water and milk, pour into the flour and whisk until bubbles form on the top or whizz it up in a Kenwood (or similar). Make sure the oven is really really hot...highest temp possible. Lard in the patty tins not oil. Heat the tins til the lard is smoking, pour the batter mix into the hot lard and put in the oven.......DON'T open the oven door until they are ready.....approx 20 mins and they should end up like mine........huge, and really nice! Mmmm! Yorkshire's with everything in our house! x

you would'nt have happened to have Tinkz baby`up there helping you make`them`would you` if you have i think you'd be better leaving her to make the Fairy cakes`?

Hi Sparkles. You did nothing wrong. Just cut the top off fill them with meat and gravy, or fruit and cream, if there are to many, you can put them in the freezer. Mmmmmm Yorkshire puddings, I can smell them from here.

Ha Ha sparks.....hope you're not expecting a proper answer from me !!!

You can't go wrong with Yorkshire Puddings, can you?

My dad told me that, in the Royal Navy, they used to make great big slabs of Yorkshire Pudding on Sundays, each sailor having a portion with gravy on it with their roast beef and a second portion with jam on it for pudding! English cuisine at its scintillating best what?
