ha....serious people, what do you think of when you think of 'troll'
I consider all of us who hang out here day to day as 'trolls' Technically, we sit here 'trolling' for a few good, naughty or not questions to answer. Should I change my ways of thinking? Or should YOU ALL change your way of thinking? LMAO (I kinda go for the latter...but hey, thats just the pushy broad in me)
I think of the people who clone, thumbs down and harass as just plain azzholes.

When I first came to Yahoo about 7 years ago the definition of "troll" was anyone who posts content in order to draw attention to themselves and/or cause controversy. Those type and the type that think any type of humor other then theirs is not humor.
So by original definition the ones who are posting questions in order to draw attention are trolls....and that makes all of us trolls.

trolls snare or trap people to make them look silly. they don't do hateful or harmful things, ie if you ask a question like have you ever been to nebraska and I answer yes nebraska is the worst city in south dakota and you rebuke me by saying nebraska is a state not a city you have been trolled, there are other better examples but that is the idea, to express silliness by being silly
'Troll' is that nasty-as- little hairy thing that hangs 15 under bridges....

I thought a troll was a "party spoiler" you know, gives thumbs down a lot and reports a ton of people.

Well, I try not to think of trolls, but when I am compelled to, I think of people with no purpose in their useless lives other than to call attention to themselves by targeting others. They especially target those with high points and lots of Best Answers and God forbid if you are so unfortunate as to be wearing one of the Top Contributor badges.
I know of one person who had a minimum of 6 identities(clones) and I 100% agree with your definition.... azzholes.
Troll: a n unsatisfied yahoo species, with to much time and hate to control their..bad manners ..and create anger amoungst others who they dispise for no reason whatsoever!!
