Question: Of course, stubborn as I am, I won't get up but it just bugs me that he waits silently, for me to just cool off and relax even if it is for 5 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, it means your hubby is a true man. My husband does this to me EVERY single night (right as I sit down, he'll want some chips or cookies or even a glass of water). Grrr it makes me so mad! I just tell him if he wants it badly enough he'll get it himself.
It means he's a man. Mine does it too - sometimes I'd just give him this look that says it all. He claims not to do it on purpose so that means he is either totally clueless or full of bull.
Or he is pre occupied. When I am about to sit down I ASK him if he needs anything before i sit down. Then if he needs something after that he is on his own. What kills me is I work 2 jobs and he is retired but do you think he will ask me if I want anything when he is up? But NNNOOOOO!!!

Ask him to get it himself! Or start to ask him for stuff too! Oh and here's another.... As you're bringing him whatever it is he wanted, say something like "Oh, and can you make sure you blah blah this weekend?"
Of course "blah blah" is some task he's been putting off!! i.e. fix the plumbing etc...
I think he's one of those passive-aggressive types....
