Do you get a kick out of people who say "irregardless"?!

Question: No, I want to punch them in the face...my boss (the drama) queen says that word probably 30 times a day at least......and it doesn't make any sense...what does 'not regardless' mean?

Answers: No, I want to punch them in the face...my boss (the drama) queen says that word probably 30 times a day at least......and it doesn't make any sense...what does 'not regardless' mean?

why wud i? its not sexy

It just reminds me of an SNL sketch, so I laugh.

Yes. It sounds stupid

No, I do not. :)

Yep.

And, it's usually followed with a lot of improper verb tense-usage, as in "you was wrong....."

Yes, because "irregardless" is redundant.

lol yes!

Yes!

NO, that annoys the hell out of me! It's not a word, or it's a double negative or SOMETHING but it shouldn't be used!

Okay, rant over... :)

As in: Unregarded??

no...i just blink at them 5 times so that they know..i had to shut my brain down to keep from strangling them!

I like to make up words and throw them in coversation and act like people are stupid when they don't know what they mean

I'd like to kick people who say that.
Just a gentle little knock on the shins... nothing too extreme.
Funny thing is,my husband was using that word a couple of years ago and it took the longest time to convince him to stop.

It used to make me want to cry when I heard it b/c of all the angst it created within my brain. But now I think it's funny and I may start using it just b/c I know how much it bugs people.

Irregardless of the situation !
god, I'm funny...

I do, thats the funniest thing ever. I love ridiculous grammar mistakes. I will say that often too, and no one catches on. Its a little joke I have with myself.

My bf says that

It's not as bad as some of the other crap that comes out of his mouth

no, just makes me want to kick them lol.....nearly as much as folk who say pacific or pacifically instead of specific and specifically , it drives me totally insane :-)

no, more of a slap...and then, there is the issue of scone, irregardmore.....or less.......

Yes.i don't like it

I stare blankly at them for several seconds, as I do when I hear someone say "I could care less" when they do not care at all about something. That makes me want to ask them "do you mean that you care a little, or do you mean you could NOT care less.

irregaurdlessly, you shouldnt have asked this question.

yes, and they have been saying it for a while. I probably wouldn't know there was anything wrong with it but when we were kids my father (in the privacy of our own home) would make fun of people who said it and have all of us rolling on the floor laughing. My father also made up the name Rodney Dangerfield in "made-up" stories he would tell us kids long before the comic, Rodney Dangerfield, became famous. My father was a musician. He was an artist, in his own way.
Whenever I hear someone say irregardless I think of my father.

Edit: Please excuse my grammar and punctuation. English was my worst subject and I wasn't too good in any subject.
