Do I weigh too little for my age and height? 13 and 5'5?!


Question: I'm 13 and 5'5 and I weigh 102 pounds- I've weighed that much for 13 months and it's not like I don't eat much or anything-
any of my friends or family will tell you I eat a lot!
Pizza, hot wings, cheesesteaks, french fries, ice cream.
And of course, I also eat healthy food like green beans, spinach, salads, sushi, stir-fry, fruits and grains, etc.
Should I weigh more for my age and height?

You're thin, but for your age it's probably not so bad, you're still growing, and you'll gain more eventually. Ideal weight range for people your height is 110-125 for your age

I too was really slender when I was a kid your age. Keep eating, focus on healthy foods, and have a good time. Your body will catch up with your eating habits soon enough.

no u sound pretty healthy :) my friend has almost the same proportions as u and shes fine :) if ur worried it wouldn't hurt to put on a few pounds tho

At 16 I was 5'6", and weighed 112. I'm sure that at 13 I was no more than 100 or so. You probably haven't come into your figure, yet. In a couple of years, you'll have more in the chest and hips dept. You're still built like an adolescent...don't worry, it's normal. I'm assuming you eat and exercise normally for a kid?

Your just right. I have friends your age that are the same way. They eat alot and dont gain a pound.

Nah, as long as you're eating, that's all that matters!

Be happy you've got such a great metabolism... some people would kill to be able to eat all that good junk food and still be skinny!!

You probably should weigh more- it all depends on your muscles and such- you can't really tell- of course there are charts and such that tell you what is normal- but what does it know? Nothing- you can't be unhealthy- or alteast it seems. I wouldn't stress over it though- it's not as if you're dropping pounds, eah?

if you aren't very thin, what i mean is, if your bones are sticking out or you look like your not eating, realllllyyyy thin, than yeah you do need to gain wait. But if your body is perfectly normal and you don't get sick a lot than i would say your fine. It all depends on how your body and metabolism are, how much exercise you get. (people differ)

no you shouldnt im 16 and going to be 17 in april. and ive weighed less then 100 for a long time and then i just went to the doctor and to my surprise im 111 and im 5'5 so no i think you are fine..
yes your tall and some people are just tall and skinny. my mom weighed less that 100 before she got married and she was tall.. no i mean she was skinny so no you dont need to worry.

Don't worry about the number on the scale, worry about getting proper nutrition. Try to eat a good balance of fruits, vegetables, lean protein & whole grains. The better you feed your body the better you will feel and your weight will be just what it needs to be - naturally.

Check with your doctor if you are concerned.
Remember your body's in the start of it's final growth phase and it will be changing because of your sex also, as well as genetics and food intake. You'll be filling in and out at the same time. Just ask your parents for some help every once and awhile.
