And yes, you are able to explain. If Yahoo feels you reported someone in error, you lose 10 points.

When you report someone it asks you to explain why you reported it.
I've only reported a person a few times, and the reason was that they were answering solely to upset the person who was asking the question. For instance, once this girl who had herself as her avatar had asked something about a random topic having nothing to do with her personally, and this total shitehawk answered, "Wow, you're really ugly!" so I reported him. But I never do it just to be rotten or just coz I don't agree with the person. That would be a waste of time.
Yes, there's a box on the page where you can write in "additional details". I don't report people often but sometimes there's just no other way.

I have reported 3 people in the millions of years i have been here, one was a guy asking how to rape a 3 year old,I cant remember the second and the third was the person who cloned me and was posting porn sites they were disgusting all over the place under my name and pic....I am firm in having a good time and leaving people alone for the question they ask, I have zero tolerance on someone raping a three year old whether it was a joke or not.
only when i see someone who is really harassing one of my contacts...because it infuriates me!
I actually do report people who say or ask inappropriate things. Once someone posted (and I am not making this up) "What are some good kinds of porn to show an 8 year old girl?" If I could have I would have reached through the computer and snapped his wang off.

Thank-you for saying that as we as i did again last night got deleted and reported for a wonderful poem my son who is 16 wrote and .we went to check how his answers were going and there was that nasty letter that tells you that your reported ' and we want to know what was so bad that you reported it.If i reported someone i would be brave enough to tell you why i did it.It 's so sad that these people who get a joy out of harassing others because their not having a good day or maybe no coffee W.T.F. ever it is.makes no commen sence ..I'll be glad when all this childish reporting will be done with and i hope it is sooner than later.

I reported this guy for harassing me and that it... It kept emailing me and kept answering my questions telling me how evil I was .. All because I said jokingly I wouldn't give m hubby 6 kids! We only want 4 kids ... But according to this guy it was wrong to deny my hubby of his wants, and to go against gods will ....
I have only reported once and that was for a man who showed his privates for his avatar.. thought that was too extreme..
i almost never report people. unless they are intentionally extremely rude or vulgar to the asker, or me. but i will admit that yesterday i had a field day with the report button. i answered a question "how can we get our child to stop throwing tantrums?". the asker got about 50 answers. and shockingly, about 25 of them suggested seriously abusing the child. a toddler! i have no problem with people who think spanking is acceptable. but the asker got answers such as "put a cigarette out on him" "hit him with a fly swatter" "take off your belt and beat him". seriously, it was shocking and disturbed me. i reported every single one that suggested abusing a toddler. i do not care if they were joking or not, or whatever.. abusing a child is in no way funny. other than that, i don't really report. unless it is a question like "where can i find pictures of naked 7 year old girls?" ya, that got reported.
Like most are answering I have never reported anyone. I don't see the point; I don't like this system.
I have blocked two people, one blocked Me first, and the other was "suggested" by another to be in everyones best interest to do so.
I have had three questions "reported" (deleted) recently and though they might have been in poor taste to some, they were simply asked (jokingly) and I received some really rude answers; so I can only assume that it was from one of those that did the reporting.
I like your question, but I don't think you're gonna get an honest answer from someone that gets their kicks from reporting others.
