Should i go to school to be an x-ray tech or a pharmacist?!

Question: Well, are you sure you want to be an X-ray technician? If you are willing to go to school long enough to be an actual pharmacist, and not just a pharmacy tech, you should consider going to school and becoming a radiologist. A radiologist makes a lot more than an X-ray tech does. The money is more in line with being an actual pharmacist, and actually more than what most pharmacists make.

Of course, if you want to be a radiologist, you have to go to med school, and that's a long program, what with being an intern and a resident and all. Pharmacy school is shorter, and you still get paid a lot.

All in all, X-ray techs make decent money, as well. It just isn't in the same league as the other two.

I guess the most important thing is which is more interesting to you? Pharmacists work better hours, usually. Also, if you are at all squeamish about handling other people's body parts, or injured body parts, then an X-ray tech is not a good choice--you have to do a lot of work with people who are not only hurt, but sometimes also sporting some really disturbing injuries. If any of that is of concern to you, go with pharmacy--your actual contact with the public is either limited (in a retail setting) or non-existent (in a hospital setting).

Give it some thought, and decide which one is likely to still be interesting to you 20 years from now. Neither one is worth doing if it isn't going to make you happy and keep you happy and interested in what you are doing.

Good luck on your decision.

ur decision

Please answer my Q if you got time

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

yes you should....why shouldnt you?

Same thing... fancy schoolin'

Why would you want to be either? Seriously.

x-ray tech seems more interesting

what do you most love to do? i think i would go with pharmacist

My feelings tell me x-ray tech. Good luck.

probably not a good idea to work by an x-ray machine for the rest of your life..

Do what ever you can tolerate doing for 8 hours or more a day. You have to live with your decision. I would go for the one that makes the most money right off bat and has the most potential for career growth. Good Luck!

go find ppl in those professions and ask them if they like being that and how is it and base that as a decision.

xray tech takes 1-2 years and PharmD takes 6-8 years depending on school. If you're willing to do the time and are interested in chemistry, biology take pharmacy. Very rewarding career. also in high demand

x-ray tech. They have more time off work. I have a friend that is one at the hospital, and alot of times, she doesn't even have to report to work, but just wear a beeper and be on call. And, if she is at work, and things are slow, she reads alot.

University 5 years to be a pharmacist. If that does not appeal try to discover the requirements for an x-ray tech.

both are good choices, although being an x-ray tech exposes you to radiation, and being a pharmacist exposes you to all kinds of drugs.A pharmacist has to know their s*** ! I would imagine it would be harder to take pharmacology.

Be a street pharmacist you can make just as much money if your ambitious and you get the excitement from hiding from the police.

You need to realize that these two things require a very different amount of schooling and education, try being a pharmacy tech for a while and figure if pharmacy it's really your thing, it's a very long and expensive career path, so just be sure that you know if you want to be a pharmacist everything it entails. Best way it's to get a job at a hospital and shadow both careers then you can figure out with a better idea what you would like to choose. Best of luck

well i was deciding on being a pharmacist.
but which ever your more into and know about is
the best and the amount of money too, i guess. :)

good question. xray tech only 2 years of schooling. pharmacist 6 years. both earn the same money. both are great career choices. either choice is good. i wish i could help more.

Pharmacist.
X-ray techs need to specialize into MRI, etc... whereas Pharmacists can work in hospitals, drug stores, and so on...

it is easier to be and x-ray tech, but its fun to be a pharmacist....having knowledge of those differrent kinds of substances...

wellbasically it will boil down to what you want...there was once a question...do i need to do pursue this because they would be happy with it, or this who will make me selfish but happy?

personalquestions are answered personally, we are just here togive to clarity on which you would try to do...at the end of the day...its your decision....

:) take time and think of yourself in the future if would really be a pharmacist or an x ray tech after 5 or 10yrs...

sayonnara...

Where what makes you happy*

X-ray tech.
