I prefer Rocket Man to the Piano Man but I prefer Billy Joel to Elton John

Billy Joel,I have always just liked him more
Piano Man - but then, I lived near Huntington where he originated from, so I'm biased. I liked his earlier stuff - more soulful and heartfelt. Elton John is talented and I enjoy some of his stuff, too, but he seems more "Broadway" to me - too much production value. Sometimes too much is going on for me to enjoy the lyrics and a simple tune.

Billy joel i love that song when i was working in the hotel i would always go on stage and sing that song with the piano guy playing in the background.
I like Rocket Man better than The Piano Man, But I like Billy Joel better than Elton John..... Weird.

Well between these two songs I like Rocket Man the best. But I like Billy Joel better as a person if that makes any sense.
Billy Joel definitely! I just like his songs. Allentown, We Didn't Start the Fire, Honesty.
