Were kids tougher back in the 1970s when we just had slabs of cement under the m!

Question: Well, the ones that survived I mean.

Answers: Well, the ones that survived I mean.

gawd...please tell me it's still possible to bang your head into the swing set pole and knock yourself unconscious if you twist around while you're swinging really high

probably

XD

you know it man, that sh*t hurt.

Probably.

I like this question because it is unique and not boring like many of the questions in this category.

im sure they were
they werent as spoiled as kids are today

Monkey bars? lol

sure.

Don't know about that but I bet we were a lot more careful!

yes

Absolutely!

Yep.........I was in school in the 70s....I remember one time in 1st or 2nd grade this girl fell off the monkey bars and whacked her forehead on a pointy rock and made a blood-squirtin' HOLE in her head........freaked all of us out! lol

pmsl, yes this is a true fact lol.....im a survivor of the eighties when things went a bit pear shaped with just about everything.....

I wouldn't say tougher, but maybe faster learners. You only needed to fall once to say, "I'm not doing that again." Nowadays, with that soft mulchy landing, the kid has to break his neck before he'll stop.

Oh geez! no doubt....my uncles have scars on their knees and heads from falling and kissing the cement so many times....glad we had grass when it was my elementary years.

lmao i think we are even because tan bark hurts like a B!TCH! i almost got poked in the eye once lol

Nah....it's just when we went indoors all I got asked was "did you bang your head" and then - well that was a stupid thing to do wasn't it, or well you're still alive so can't be all that bad. :)

Didn't get much sympathy when I actually knocked myself out either...! LOL

I used to skin my knees on concrete all the time! Even with those big a** patches sewn over the jeans.

I believe we have more mishaped heads then the kids now . There were blood stains everywhere under the ones at my old school till they were taken down and replaced with plastic tubes with mulch underneath so the kids couldn't scrape a knee now if they tried.

Kids and even the adults were definitely much more tough back in the day. At that time we didn't have to be home before dark lol. Now it is before dusk so that the gangstas don't shoot ya.

yeah, so what if you got some bumps and bruises. i remember when i was in 2nd grade, in 1962, running around inside the monkey bars, tripping and falling and getting a big old black eye. i was so proud!!

your damn right we were .......no freakin cryin in the play ground man........

They weren't touger as much as, let's say, less willing to take risks.

That's for sure ... I came home everyday with holes in the knees of my leotards!!!!

I did just fine............stood on the very top too

Definately....There are a lot less road rash cases now then when I was a kid
