Is the month of March considered to be Spring? I know by April it is for sure.?!

Calandar wise spring is in mid March, but I've always gone by
December, January and February=winter
March, April and May=spring
June, July and August=Summer
September, October and November=fall
March is considered to be winter changing into spring, as the snow starts to become dirty and melt, and the sun gets hot enough to melt the ice.
I guess technically it is - 3 months per season, but it sure doesn't act like it!!!
Does an average temperature for the month of 40 sound like Spring?
Not to me. I say that March is winter. April is when spring starts. By the end of May, it's pretty much summer, though.
I like our falls much better because they're not as sudden, and there is usually no snow.
