Question: that one of your friends has a dark side of their personality (something so disgusting that you can't cope with!!!) do you suddenly become a moralist and turn against them or do you blame yourself for being so blind before and make efforts to like them again?

Actually... Although world sometimes seems to be filled with judgemental people, there are times, when some dark secrets might be discovered...
I have always been honest, and if I find out something what really can not be tolerated... I honestly speak with the friend and tell with proper reasoning, what I find unacceptable conduct and why, and conclude: "Correct it! ..or fade...".
Luckily what I did found in past, was something* what needed to be corrected, matter was corrected and friendship lasted... (*it was ethics related).
Never blamed myself for something I have not known...
And I never ended a friendship without having first a serious "correcting speech" and to hear, friends "justifications/reasonings" (the reasons behind) first...
If I liked them this long I'll continue the friendship

i would wonder what took them so long. being friends with me and they havent joined the dark side yet? we all have dark sides its just a matter of what we let others see.
I file the informaion away in my memory & assume that action will never occur again. Then when it does I slowly back away from friend.
EVERYONE has a dark side.
If they are a friend, you cope. If you can't cope, then they were never truely your friend. Simple!
If it has an illegal flavor I must not stay and I must tell my friend why I am leaving the friendship. i will also offer the solution of my friend not partaking in this anymore. If they chose to endure I must leave. I do not believe that a friendship is worth going to jail/prison for when I am innocent of said crime.
