I would absolutely 100% try and save her. Almost every nightmare I've ever had involves people I love being tortured and me not being able to do anything. You better believe I'd do everything I could to rescue one of them.

Since I have kids, I would escape to them and get help for friend. If I was alone in the world, kidless, I'd die with my friend trying to save her.

sorry that statement had me cracking up! I would save them, but I'd have to think it out before i do anything crazy.... If they were my best friend then no doubt, but if they were someone i met the other day, I'd see what i can do. No one really deserves to lose their life to a maniac with a chainsaw

Call 9-1-1 then run back in. That way I'd try to save my friend, yet know "back up" was on the way.
EDIT: Fine, I'll go find the maniac's cell phone or land line and use it to call 9-1-1. I'm sure he's too busy torturing to pay that much mind....
go get help first, or if on the way out and I spot something I could use as a weapon, then I'd run back and try to help her out

I would pray till I cried and keep running.
Why?
a) If he/she's my best friend, he/she'll want me to live instead of both of us dying.
b) Two dead people have never solved anything.
I wouldn't feel so much remorse, but just horror at living with those sounds in my head. I think I could cope though.
