Question: No, but they are only a half inch wide

Answers: No, but they are only a half inch wide

Those are the portions your body need enough too function and not to get fat

No, those people don't have weight problems. Once i started reading serving sizes off of labels and following them, i never struggled with my weight again.

I KNOW! Don't you hate it when you eat a snack and then look at the box and you have eaten 16 servings?

They make serving sizes small so that there are fewer calories per serving.... it looks better to the consumer to have 5 grams of fat per serving of potato chips (even though its like 4 chips) than to have 10 g of fat per serving when the serving size is 8 chips. It's all psychology, man.

It's based on a 2 thousand calorie per day diet. Most women need about 2 thousnd calories per day, depending on how much exercise they get. Sure, 2 cookies sounds like very little, but considering those 2 cookies have 130 calories, if you ate the entire package you'd have your 2000 calories for the day in about 5 minutes. And after that anything you ate would just be adding weight to your hips.

i think they are at least 12 inches tall

They're written by advertising people who want to sell the product but are still responsible to suit if they're too far off.

A serving size is an estimate of what the average serving is for the average person. Keep in mind that we usually discard this. A proper serving size of steak is only 4oz, thats about the size of a deck of cards.

that's why it's important to know your body. if you know you can eat more, eat more; that's why those servings are based on a 2000-Calorie diet. you need to adjust them to fit your activity level, natural body size, and energy needs.

We have a problem in this country. People are actually at the point of believing that serving sizes are multiple times bigger than they really are. Those serving sizes on the boxes are what a healthy, normal person would eat. We've just lost all sense of perspective with our little national eating disorder.
