What are some gift ideas for friends who have helped during a hard time?!


Question: We have made it through another hurdle with my little one's illness. She seems to be on the road to recovery. We are hours away from family since we have moved, but my new friends have really come through and helped with everything form house cleaning to cooking meals. This is not something I am used to. Even back home, I don't have much of a family and so I am not used to this kind of help. I want to say thanks, but how should I? What is the best way?

Also, thanks to all of you for the emails and prayers, we have made it through yet another tough time!

    Perhaps:

    Invite them out to dinner.
    Invite them over to your house.
    Bake a cake & bring it over to them.
    If you are able, a gift card to go out to dinner. If not, a thank you card with a special note in it is more than appropriate.

    Thank you notes and food: if you bake, cookies or cupcakes or homemade candy. Or small appetizer baskets, with fancy olives, cheeses and crackers. You can specify the food gift to each person easily, and either buy them or create them at home, cheaply or expensively, a lot of variations are possible. Best of luck to you!
    the kind of freinds you have described, find their gift in the giving. maybe sometime when your in a poisition to do so, a nice home cooked meal, and good conversation. sounds like the lord has really blessed you. hed be the first i thanked.
    um a build a bear or just have them rounf/go out for a meal you dont nesiserlily have to get them anything for them to know you are gratefull to them and for them to know that you would try and do the same for them if they were in the same situation !!!! hope this helps
    coming from a family that's big on helping each other out, trust me when I say that they usually don't expect anything but a heartfelt thank you in return.

    It's hard to suggest anything to you because you're free time, if any, is tended to your little one and family. If you feel like you have some extra time, maybe do something like sending a thank you card or dinner at your house.

    Just a thought .. as my other half is teaching me many things... try this as just a thought...... I have 2 offers .. one is bake the persons that helped you if they are close... and or maybe have a "getting well party" or call it a major THANK YOU party...
