At what age did you move out of your parents house?!

Question: The first time I moved out I was 23, I had to move back home cause My roomate who owned the house ended up selling it. I coulnt afford to live on my own. I moved out again when I was (dont laugh) 34 when I got married. I never had a job that paid enough to get me out of the house, sorry to say.

As soon as I was 17, the youngest you can in this country without their permission.

I got married and began life on my own with my husband. I've been on my own ever since (I'm now 42).

My parents prepared me well to be on my own. They taught me how to budget money for rent, savings, utilities, food, car expenses, etc. They taught me how to be independent and I've never needed to ask them for help---in fact, I've been able to help my parents. They taught me that I alone was responsible for what my life turns out to be.
