You're right. They think they are bad @zzez. It's a mental thing they feel they have to portray. Really doesn't and never has impressed me. Sure their job is hard-remember, THEY chose to do it.

Sometimes they can be real jerks other times there ok.
Some people just think they are above the law and tend to show off just ignore them and enjoy yourself.

half of my family (uncles, cousins, dad) are cops, state troopers and police men and they arent a**holes!
so y dont you stop being a little prick and get over yourself!
Police men put thier life on the line everyday to protect people like you so shut the h*** up!

They are people too and may have had an argument with their wife that morning, or their daughter did something to set them off for the rest of the day . Possibly something thru the day helped to make them irratable - who knows...and like every other field there are jerks as well.
Just be tolerant around difficult circumstances because they do have the law on their side most of the time.
Having to put up with the the worst of people all the time,ends up making them insensitive jerks.
the same reason all humans suck sometimes, only people expect them to fix in three minutes the problems that took a life time to create or they put their lives on the line for idiots.
