I look first at the visual clues - spelling and grammar. I'm more likely to believe something that is well written, articulate and properly punctuated.
Then I roll it around on my tongue to get a taste for it - see if it makes sense.
And then it comes down to verification.
Well you don't 'weed out' the useful stuff, only the bad stuff. Keep the flowers, get rid of the weeds.
I am a skim reader....and if its listening to someone I ask them really pointed questions that make them get to their point faster.
I basically take all the information into account and and check it all out and it hits me as to what is useful and what is nonsense. But you will have to read all the information and in the process you will have to sift through the garbage to get the good stuff so to speak. But once you do it it'll all hit you.
I don't really know any useful knowledge it's all garbage.
Now, you can take my word for this, cause I get in trouble all the time for tipping the garbage over, but trust me, you can find treasures in among that stuff, just don't spend too much time looking, 'cause you can start to smell....let what's done with be done with once you've found the good stuff.

if I was to be mean, I would say ask a Gypsy, that's what they do around here. But I'll go with distillation, it takes a while, but it's worth it
