Not at all, if they want to know the opinions of Americans. If they are saying something offensive then of course, I am likely to get offended.

LOL, why would it be offensive or rude? Us "non-Americans" don't know everything about American culture and are just asking a question. It's what follows the phrase "Do you Americans..." that could be rude and offensive.

Do you Americans WHAT? does not sound like something that would offend anyone, just sounds like curiosity to me. Just don't go negative with the conversation or I will have to leave...I like staying positive and negative things bring me down. I have PMA (positive mental attitude).
