Help please?!?!?!

Question: I have a history project and I saved the hardest for last, why I dont know. I need MAJOR help with it. Even if all you can give is a sentence I dont care. I need a 2 page report and all i cant think of is like 2 paragraphs if that. I need to know why Italians migrated to the United Starts from there. I need to include push factors~why they wanted 2 leave their country~ and pull factors~what was going on in america that they wanted to go there. so i ask: why did italians come to america and what were the push and pull factors?

Push factors: Poverty, Job offers, No Government Aid, a better life style.

Pull Factors: Job opportunities, better life, safer environment....

think about their family too...just put your shoes in theirs. Go to the Library and find history about Italy.....good luck on your project.

Push factors - Population?
Pull Factors - Family, better wages,

PS Google or any other search engine it and look there for Ideas also. Check out this site

Good Luck!

The main push factor in Italian Immigration was the huge economic problem. Trade with the Orient (an important source of money) was stopped by the spread of Turkish power. Commerce was also curtailed by the geographical discoveries which opened cheaper routes to the east. Trade was far from free and about one third of Itlay's land was uncultivated mountain or swamp. The pay that southern Italians recieved was low and the work day was long. The upper classes of Italy were not prepared to pay their fair share of taxes, which was low compared to everyone else's.
Goverment
As the goverment of Italy crumbled, so did the citizens. Equally awful for Itlay's future was the powerful European political system. Italy was unprepared for the developements which produced united and strong nation state. The strength of Europe's cities and the power of the pope conspired to keep Italy disunited. Italy had fallen.
Pull Factors
The Choice to Leave One's Home
the Italians came to America mostly because of better living conditions, such as unoppressive government and freedom of speech and religion. Many Italians also loved the beutiful scenery, which inspired great crowds of Italians to come over. Some Italians just came for adventure, but very few. Some Italians returned to Italy; the jobs that had made them come in the first place were not there, only low-paying, long work hour jobs that had plagued Italy for so long.
