When someones talking so much and you lose interest, what do you do?!
Question: I just stop listening, but is there a way you can get them to stop talking,

i pretend im listening :) although i have a magical quality if i need to answer a question and im not listening my brain still notes down what they are saying so i can answer the question acturatly.

I usually end up tuning them out. It's bad when I have to answer a question and have no idea what they just said.
space out, and pretend I'm listening
tell them to shut up and turn the tv up louder or just put my ear phones in and pretend that im still listening
lol my mom does the same thing even tho she should know better by now. i usually just zone out but always come back in time to say "yes or I see" in the end so they think i'm listening
I either stop listening to them or yell at them to go away! - Well, thats only if its my mum or brother.
start subtly nudging the conversation in a different direction, or smile and nod, not paying attention.
I just think about other things I could or should be doing. However when someone is doing this it helps if you add the occasional hmmmm or I missed that say it again.
I WILL ask them, "Is there going to be a test on this, after?" They'll typically take the hint, and wait for a better, receptive time.
Close my mind, let them yabber on for England and just as they've finished I look at them and say, sorry, did you say something, bugs the hell out of them and shuts them up.
I just go along with it, i pretend that i`m listening.
