our 'freedom' is an illusion.....we may have certain rights and priveledges that people in other countries don't have, but in many ways we are like prisoners of the government....everywhere you go there are survelance cameras, every time you make a purchase its recorded and stored in a database somewhere, every IM, email, web page that you visit is accessible to them, our phones can be tapped w/out our knowledge at any time....the media is partially controlled by the government as well....things that are reported are never 100% true yet most of us believe everything we see and hear.....we dont have rights and privacy to give up, they have already been taken from us

    The survalance is for our own good, to protect our freedom.
    It's becoming less and less free as we speak. You are a smart person, and you SHOULD be freaked out. It's a scary thing.

    I take it you have read the book "1984"?

    If not, you should.
    It will be less and less free for many reasons. It is already less free than most people are aware of. Giving up our rights and privacy will not keep us any safer.
    If people like Bush keep getting in the White House then less free.
    Let us hope that enough people have the tenacity to stand up for and believe in, our rights to be free for many many years to come.
