I don't ever have to taste caviar to know that it's gross...and I don't care how rich I ever became, I would never serve up that nastiness to any of my guests.

It's all a 'prover'; good taste has nothing to do with it...
They are "ok" - kind of salty like soy sauce. I eat them more for a condiment for sushi rather than just eating a mouthful - doesn't sound too appetizing...

Caviar is something people have to develop a taste for. Its like anchovies. I like both.
Caviar can be expensive but not cost-prohibitive. Shrimp can be expensive (all seafood can be) but people still eat it, and not to just show they have money.
well, fish eggs and caviar is considered a delicacy in many places. But, on the other hand, ppl serve them so that everyone thinx that they are rich and cool. it usually depends on their culture. if they are from a country (usually in asia) that has fish eggs and caviar a delicacy, then they arent trying to show off their money, theyre just teaching you aspects of their culture and heritage.
I agree.... Fish eggs are gross!! They are bait, not food!! Someone back in time decided to tell rich people that they will be a "notch above" if they eat them. Pretentious if you ask me

I think it's all a show, I mean it's hard enough to get past the taste, but then there's the texture -- nasty!
