It’s no surprise why most teenagers see nothing wrong with sex before marriage.
It’s everywhere! One of the most regular places (besides teen magazines) a teenage girl can find nothing immoral with sex before marriage is in your local newspaper. Believe it or not, there are even comics for teens about the joys of sex. When a teenager reads about other teenagers their age having sex before marriage they get used to the idea, and want to try it themselves. Another reason for this is because parents don't bother teaching their teens about why it’s wrong. But even so, you would be very surprised to know that most parents do not know when their teens are in sexual relationship. The lack of trust between teenagers and parents is bigger then you think. If a parent does not trust their teen, then the teen will not trust their parents, therefore they do not listen when parents explain to them that sex before marriage is immoral. Being a regular reader of entertainment inserts of the newspaper, I see many positive articles about movies and TV shows that mostly focus on teens and sex. How many times have you cried during a chick flick and more important, why? Because the characters and scene start to grow on you, and you become attached to them. It’s the same when teens and young adults watch shows that show nothing wrong with sex before marriage, making most immature minds “okay” with the idea. In the world that we live in, do we really need teen sex? And please answer this question for me; why can’t you wait for marriage?
