Do you support local stores or do you shop at Walmart?!

Question: If you shop at megastores like Walmart, are you unaware that they are putting smaller businesses out of sale?

Yeah I realize that. South Park and Family Guy did episodes on it. It really is a blessing and a curse.

I never thought of it that way.

I shope at Wal-Mart they have pretty much everyting I buy except Lotto tickets.

It really depends on what I want to buy, but usually I go where the price is cheapest.

Yes, I am aware of that. But I do shop there sometimes. I know, shame on me.

never though of it.
I think local stores are way more expensive though that's why people usually shop a mega stores.
but what we dont realize is that mega stores are making the small bussines go out of sales.
and we are helping mega stores create monopolies .
=(

i just shop where ever i can get wat i need

That happened to out town. It became empty and deserted. It was very sad to! So, now I make it appoint to shop at local stores. I support the mom and pop's!

Yes I am aware of the smaller businesses going under. But when you live on a fixed income in Chicago which the cost of living is 2nd only to new york,, you go where it's feasible & you get more bang for your buck. It's called basic survival .

The city I live in is pretty heavily populated so there really aren't any small stores. Everything is a chain of something or other, however I don't shop at Walmart. They're evil.

I love small businesses! Wal-mart is too grungy for me.

i do if i can but they r few and far between.
I am very aware of what wal-mart, home depot and office depot type stores do.

the people that own the local stores by me are @$$holes anyway, so i don't really care.

i shop at Walmart. oh well. i get the stuff i need at lower prices. the fact that i shop there won't stop the smaller stores from closing. I'm one person. in the town i live, they are putting up a Super Walmart. i can't wait. the hold-up is the little stores. it's called an INVESTMENT for a reason. you open a store up, you stand a chance of it closing....

i shoip at both. i get clothes on sale at local stroes and walmart. and i am aware that my purchase at the mall is gonna hurt my local stores.

UGH! I cant believe that ANYONE would want to shop at Walmart. First off, it puts small, local businesses OUT of business, therefore highering the cost of shipping, use of pesticides on food, sometimes actually increasing the price, and most importantly, giants like Walmart are so greedy and crazed over profit, they make their money by establishing sweatshops in eastern africa and southwestern Asia. now is that nice? is it nice to support children the age of 4 sold into slavery, working at 100+ degree conditions, might I add with almost no food, water, or bathroom breaks. they are severely beaten if they dont do their work or their weekly pay is reduced (mind you, children get about 1 american cent in profit every few days) since the 'robber barons' force the slaves to pay for their own use of equipment, food, clothing, etc. so, yeah with that stored up in the back of my mind,
"I <3 Walmart!" ......*sarcasm*
