Yes. I walked out on a job because the guy in at next desk was doing less work for more money..I had more experience than he did and they explained to me it was because he was a married man...his wife had a full time job and I was single, lived alone and was working my way through college at night. I was slapped on the butt by a boss, given the nickname "jugs" by another boss and told if I wore slacks to work the top of my outfit had to come to my thighs because women's butts were distracting.

When I became a photographer I was the only female on the road and I was referred to as an "assistant", questions were always asked of the males who were with me and if I were alone in the camera room I was often asked "Where is he?"

When I became a supervisor I had several men refuse to listen to my guidance, to the point where the head man had to ream out a newbie and tell him he had to do whatever I told him.

The company I work for today treats me with respect and that's why I remain!

nope

never

It depends on the career that you are referring to.
I have observed very little discriminaiton of females in a doctor's office, where I am a family doctor there.

oh definitely there is discrimination in the office place based on gender. I had a male peer get hired at $5000 more a year than me for the same position with the same experience. We were hired by a male. I had a WOMAN boss give a raise to the 2 guys in my department but not me and told me "they have families to provide for so they need it more". Ummmmmmmm excuse me? Oh please! I could go on and on!

I haven't. There is a new guy at the farm that I work at and I had to show him how to do a few things. I had him feeling guilty because I was lifting and doing a lot of hard work.

I must also mention the fact that I have only been working for a little over two years, so I don't have much experience.

Not sexism but definitely racism.
