I think I would rather have them tell me the truth even if it does hurt my feelings. If you think about it, either way you're getting hurt. I guess it's just better to know the truth and be hurt from it.

Honesy is the best policy and a person has a lot more respect for you even if the truth hurts.
I'd rather them be honest for the act of lying itself will hurt more in the long run and could result in permanent scars. Sometimes the truth hurts but the truth will set you free.
I always want people to be honest with me. There is nothing worse than the feeling people are agreeing with you or complimenting you falsely just to humor you or to spare your feelings. How are you ever going to know who you can trust if people are always hiding the truth from you? Sometimes the truth does hurt but no one ever said life was easy. Its better to know the truth and deal with it and move on, then the live in a fantasy world.

When issues are very important t we want simple honesty, and at other times we want less honesty with a little sugar coating.
But most of the time, we get a combo of both, for pure honesty all the time can be toxic.
