Why do scientist call it "re"search when they are looking for somethin!

Question: Because some have tried it before, but to no avail.

Answers: Because some have tried it before, but to no avail.

LOL - very good...!!

Then again, maybe they think that god or the mice know the answer but lost it down the back of the sofa, so now they're re-searching for it...?

I dunno...I always wondered that too....also, why do they call something that's not ordinary "extra"ordinary....?

OMG, good point!

Good question.
A star to you.

the evidence has to be examined lots of times before they can publish a conclusion. so I guess there's a "re" involved

Because they REally want to find out something new

It's just another quirky thing about the English language.

Lots of things we say don't make a bit of sense if you take them literally. And anyone who has never experienced these quirky things have a difficult time understanding the meaning of such applications.

The ironies of the English language. =)

The first "re" searchers were were a group of people and the leader had a slight speech impediment, as does Elmer Fudd and he was trying to say "we"seach but it came out re search.

Well, you see, someone searched for it before and couldn't find it, so some different scientists do some "re"searching
again in hopes that they can find a answer to this perplexing problem.

REdiculous

sometimes thats all there doing
