I am 25 and have smoked for 6 years now. I know one effect of smoking for sure because of a check-up on Friday. My lung capacity, or the amount of air I can have in my lungs at one time, has already dropped by 25 percent from before I started smoking. That is really scary. Every doctor can perform this test, it is very easy and free. The Peak flow meter is the device, and it is a just a plastic piece that you blow into. Smokers should try it now and then again in a few months. You might be surprised.
