Do you really think it's unpatriotic not to want to say the pledge of allieg!

Question: no, not really. it's only been around since the 1930s. what is inside is much more important than mumbling words by rote just because everyone else says you must. baaaaah. (and i was in the military for over 24 years, so i served my country in ways many people never dreamed of.)

Yes...it is.

yes, but it is that person's choice.

You bet cha!!!

Yes.

hell yes !!!

no, patriotism and saying the pledge of alliegance arent related that much in my book, i just choose not to say it most of the time, because i don't waste my time on pledging my alliegance to a flag, its stupid

Yes.

yes

no, it just means mass-socialization doesn't work as well on you as it does on other people....you should be anxious to die for your country by 3rd grade or so...the reading and stuff are just side effects of school, not it's purpose

when i used to say it everyday in elementary school, i had no idea what the heck i was saying. it made no sense. i didnt know what "allegiance" meant

WHOOOOOOOOOOAH TO THE AVATAR ABOVE ME

Totally. Move from the USA. Please.

kind of, but it is the person's choice

no

no and wooooaaahhh!!! to the naked girl above

Very very unpatriotic.

Yes I do.

Yes, I DO consider that to be extremely unpatriotic.

But, hey, it's a free country.

And it IS a free country because of all those who have died to defend your right to choose to NOT say the pledge of allegiance to the flag that THEY defended with their lives.

yes i do

there are much worse things than not saying the pledge of allegiance, I had to think for a minute if I remembered it, way back in the day in elementary school we said it every morning before class. If a person doesn't say it, it's their business. Their first allegiance could be God, which I have no problem with.

yeah TOTALLY

I am a bit old school about such things but I feel like if your an American and want to say it you should be able to do so....if your not an American then it is a moot point. If your beliefs don't include God but you love our country then you can find other ways to express it. I love my country and would stand tall to say the pledge of allegiance but that is just me.

Good question, thought provoking.

no , i hated that part of school and i still love my country

Well the pledge is your commitment to your country and so if you don't say it, it must mean you oppose what it means...or maybe you're just too apathetic to care right?

No way! i totally support my country, I pay my taxes, and I'm a law abiding citizen, bu ti WILL NOT say the pledge! I WILL NOT pledge alliance to some flag that lies. It says one nation under GOD, and the govn't won't even abide by the words.
I pledge my allegiance to GOD not a flag.

Not sure what it is, but sounds like the US is heading for 1984 or the communist Russia with a pledge to the blinking country and leadership...!

Really never understood a country that claims to have free speech keeps critisising anyone who doesn't follow the line.

Yes I think it is, with all the faults that there are in this country, i think too many people don't realize just how much freedom and liberties they do have.

Of course it is a choice, but if you choose not to do , I think you are disrespecting our nation.

Yes.....

As I tell my high school students everyday, "you can stand quietly and reverently with your hand over your heart.? But if you chat with a neighbor, drink coffee, or show any other disrespect to the memory of my military brothers who died in Iraq, I will come unhinged."? I find that most of them say it and appear to mean it, especially when I start twitching.

I think it's a little lazy but not unpatriotic.

...well, quite frankly, yes....yet, it might not really fly too well with persons from another country...in that case, they're excused
