Which is the most relaxing thing...?!

Question: about convalescence? The fact that you know you'll be fine, the fact that you can do whatever you want for a short while while others agitate around you, the fact that you don't have to work... what?

Having somebody wait on me hand and foot! Bringing me food, drinks, whatever it is that I need.

The fact the the icky part (surgery or heavy sickness or whatever) is over.

I guess for right now...it's the fact that I have time to explore my thoughts more, but then again...it doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere with them! I'm going a little stir crazy, but I'll have my truck back in a few weeks and I'm working on looking for a job...once I have that, I get to throw myself into trying to work lots of overtime...and my thoughts will have to be shelved for a while. It's been nice to take some time off though.

Sleep!

Actually, all three are nice.

knowing you'll be fine & not working!!

its only for a short while though..

one must keep busy @ a labor of love.. or else it turns bad.

hot baths are relaxing.

Puzzles, Internet....!!

Beautiful nurses to tend to your every need if you just play it pathetic enough.

Admit it.

Yes.

You do it too.

Ha choo, Cough Cough, "Could I please have another cup of soup?"

You are never more attractive then when you are ill.

false.

Relaxing period. Whatever it is you can do to relax, watch a good movie or read a good book, look at it on the positive side.

The most relaxing thing for me about convalescence is being able to rest and sleep whenever I want to.

Most nights for me, sleep is just very hard to obtain. When I am ill, my body knows best and actually does allow me to sleep.

Relaxing to me is Hot Mr. Bubble Bath!

Before I had my knee replaced four years ago, I would have said all three. But there really wasn't anything "relaxing" about the convalescence.

After the surgery, I didn't know I would be fine due to a complication that lasted about 10 months (sciatica, 24/7). I was on pain meds and pain management meds for most of that time.

And I didn't want to do whatever I wanted b/c I was in pain for so long afterwards. I kinda wanted to go back to work and did so after 3 weeks; unfortunately, it was nearly impossible to get comfy in a chair at work.

Looking back on it now, it all seems like a bizarre bad dream ,,, one that I eventually woke up from.

I can rest without feeling guilty about it
