Me Mum always gets a call from her only son (me) on Monday mornings. It's like "our time" - a ritual, a habit, a time she looks forward to, I think. It's only for 5 or 10 minutes, but the time length isn't important to her at all, it's the contact. I know it brightens her day, even if it's grey outside. She lets me know that without words.
(I actually call her MOM, not MUM. I think MUM is neat tho.)
