POLL:Do you find it annoying when people say, "That's so Gay!"?!
Question: I do. I'm gay. I don't find it offensive. I actually say it too sometimes. Again, I don't find it offensive, but I do find it annoying when people say it too often. Enough is enough. There is a limit. I had a friend who would say it all the time. I don't hang out with her. She'd always say, "You're so gay!" to me. I now want to go to her and smile and say, "You were right on the mark!" LOL But seriously, there should be a limit to how many times a person can say that.

yep especially since that saying is so old! I dont think u should be offended because your gay. I mean I someone is having a conversation with u and they say "that is so gay oopppsss I'm so sorry I forgot u were gay" then I would offended

My sons used to say that all the time............and it was embarassing in certain places, like church.....lol
But now they've taken to saying, "What the gay?" instead of "What the hell?" It's kind of funny, if you don't overdo it.....

I say it too. In fact my coworker's name is Gay and one time I was like "DUDE ThAT IS SO GAY" when we were at her house, and she turned around and said "what? i'm right here" like I was calling her name, haha. but in high school, i'd be offended by it sometimes. Whenever someone would say something like a movie was gay I'd be like, "yeah that movie was pretty homosexual. it really likes to have sex with men. really"
I'm with you...it's annoying rather than offensive. My gay friends don't say it, not surprisingly. I was in a music store the other day and I heard a teenage girl say it...it's become like a generic putdown, so it's going to get to the point where it's not considered homophobic, but its origins suggest that at some point it WAS homophobic. It's kinda crap since we were heading in a better direction on that score.
