Ahhh I've had the hiccups for like five minutes...how to stop them?!


Question: i've tried holding my breath and all..but nothing helps! it's so annoying!

Ok this seriously works, everbody laughs at me.... but take a pencil and horizontaly place it between your lips and take a drink of water... it will work!

i dont know....i get at least 2 hiccups everyday its rather bothersome....

Peanut butter always helps me. Last week I had the hiccups 3 times in one day. The only thing that worked was peanut butter.

try drinking a glass of water, that might help.

breathe in deep real real slow and out real real slow. repeat over and over. concentrate and in a few min they will go away.

Block your ears and drink from a straw. It's not crazy, I didn't believe it either, but it works.

a spoonful of peanut butter

7 small sips of water
or
light a match, put it out in a shot of water, remove the match down the water

dunno the explanation though, but a friend told me that it's effective.. or maybe, get a good scare from someone.. lol~

Hold your breathe?

That usually works for me.

Get a full glass (to the rim) of water, bend over the glass, put your lips to the part of the rim away from you, and drink from that side. You must be careful, or you'll get water all over you. This constricts the airway for a moment, thereby cutting off air and ending the "hiccup".

Take your middle and ring finger and press against your forhead right above the begining of your eyebrow. Hold it there and just breathe

Drink water, or hold your breath, or a trick I like to use:
Try to watch yourself hiccup. Sometimes it disappears. It only works a couple of times, though...weird...lol

Holding your breath is the best remedy. Hiccups are caused by an irritaion of the diaphragm. (The muscle that allows your lungs to expand and contract so you can breathe). Take a deep breath IN and then hold for as long as possible to stop the hiccups. Goodluck!

Drink 9 sips of water while holding your breath, Blow a couple of time in a big brown bag inhaling and exaling , put a silver spoon under your tongue and hold your breath, for a short time. drink some sugar w, ater get some one to top you on the back as we do when burpping a baby, and last have some one to give you a big scare, these really work i have try them all i gets hiccups real bad and i thank God for all of these home remedies i do hope you feel a little better, Be bless
