Private Schools or Public Schools????!

Question: Which one??? and Why??

Answers: Which one??? and Why??

i think public schools are the best. i say this because to me highschool is more than just sitting around and learning. it is about making new friends and making memories. i dont believe you can do this at private schools

Public.

'Cause they're cool!

public
i just would not want to go to private

Private-- our public school system sucks.

Public.

It's cheaper than private.

Public school

now days the private are getting as bad as the public ones, with the drama and such...it used to be that you'd send your kids to private to keep them safe. With that being said I guess public because at least I'm not having to pay for my kids to have to deal with stuff that goes on.

i go to a private school and i hate it, they dont give enough opportunities, and the head teacher thinkswe are the best school ever!

i pick public!

Tough one... In the UK, I think that the education is far better at a private school, and that children will speak properly and maybe learn some etiquette at a private school, however, a public or state school will build character and prepare them for life socially.
I plan on moving abroad when I have kids, because I wouldn't have enough money to keep my children fashionable in a private school, plus, as I am from a working class family a private education could alienate them from me, but at the same time, I'd hate to have my child in a state one.

I would say private way over public. I was in a public school last year and I hated it. The teachers care only about the kids that their dads that are the basketball or baseball coach. They can totally ignore you. Private school costs more, but it is totally worth it.

ive been in both

public is ok and you meet a good mix of people
private can be very snobbish...but facilities are better
people in my old school used to have " money fights"
it was pathetic...."my dad earns more than your dad......"

overall id go private

Public helps make kids more street wise and these day,s they need to be.They learn to take care of themselves.and to get on with every kind of person Private schools tend to make them a bit Snobish ( for want of a better word. ).

It depends on where you live, talk to other parents about the public schools, also what are you wanting from the school? If you are a Christian then you may want a school that follows those beliefs. What electives does each one offer? Also private schools don't always have the resources if the students need special services like speech therapy, etc...

I am 16 and I go to private school. I switched out of public school after eighth grade, and at first, I thought I did not want to go. All my friends were at the public school, and I knew no one else. Also, I had to repeat eighth grade year.

It was the best thing I have ever done. I did not realize how bad public schools are with 36 kids in my math class and not enough desks for all of us. During my 9th grade year, there were 5 kids in my spanish class. That is an advantage: you cannot hide, you cannot not do your homework, the teacher always calls on you. So if you don't understand something, you can always ask. My largest class had 13 people in it. It never feels crowded, and you are close to all of the people. I was never afraid to ask a question, or even to present a project in front of the class like I was in public school.

It is true that in private school, teachers are stricter and you are asked for more, but in the longterm, you get much more out of it.

Summary: You may think that public school is better because you have been there all of your life and all your friends are there, but trust me, you can still hang out with your friends and go to a much better school. There are too many people in public: I wasn't able to learn, therefore I had C's in classes. Ever since I switched out, my GPA has been around a 90, even though classes are much harder.

I hope this convinced you to go with private school. I have been through this experience and I will never see it as a mistake!

I have more to say: It is very easy to make new friends, because these private schools are a very close-knit community. Everybody knows everybody, including teachers and staff. Also, one disadvantage of private is that it costs a lot of money. But most of the time, the school will give you financial aid. My father teaches at a private school, and I go to a different high school and love it.

private, better quality and you have more say, plus results are normally higher than public.
public schools also have a lot of problems with bullying.
