Have you ever fought with one hand tied behind your back?!

Question: How'd that work out for you?

Answers: How'd that work out for you?

No, but I bet you did - judging from the exploits in your book! Big big guy yeah?

Even with both hands up front and flailing things rarely worked out for me.

My first boxing lesson at school, aged 10, was also my last.

I had to fight my best friend from primary school and apologised every time I hit him, which I actually managed to do quite a lot!

The P.E. teacher, an ex-Welsh Rugby International player, Elwyn Price, told me that I was not cut out for boxing, and that was that! Thankfully!

My friend, Terry Falstein his name was, came from Pakistan. One of the Christian Brothers (total misnomer for those vindictive barstewards) who taught us used to call him a 'half baked Arab'.

Those were not politically correct days - especially not in Bristol (most of the wealth of Bristol came from the slave trade, of course, and the culture in the 1960s was still 'casually racist').

Terry died in a motor bike crash when he was 18 - so I'm glad I never had to go on hitting him at school - or him me!

He was a complete loony on a motorbike - what a bloody waste of his young life it was. He had a brilliant brain - always came first at primary school - I could never top him at anything we learned.

Terry is buried within a few yards of my mum and dad - so I always (also) pay him a call when I'm in Portishead (near Bristol), and wish he was still here, or, sometimes, that I was there - if that makes sense.

He will never, you see, grow old - 'as we that are left grow old' - etc.

no

thats not possible, you cant tie 1 hand alone...

In a mental tug of war I have. Does that count?

No but I puked in a cop car with both hands tied behind my back

No

where would the one hand be tied?
your spine?

i haven't done that

Yes, and both hands, it worked fine.

I'm a woman; I've always had to fight with one hand tied behind my back. Fight for respect, equality in the work place, the last donut in the box...

I'm doing that, now! It's a biaatch!
