Anyone hear prefer the more traditional church music, as opposed to drum machine!

Question: I really find all those "hey let's dance to God" things annoying. When I go to church I wanna relax and put my problems at ease for a while, I don't plan on getting all sweaty and worked up.

Even if they want to use mordern instruments, why can't they just play it like coldplay , instead of like reggae?

I just can't accept music that's in the same tempo with a song about human love and sex....being played to gospel.......it just doesn't feel like church

yes - "contemporary christian rock" is a joke.

Not meant to work together at all.

I agree.

I like the traditional hymns and chants best. The plain ones that are just voices, no instruments.

I understand you.
My old church was all about Christian Metal, which was why I dreaded church every week.
But my new church sing traditional gospel songs, so it's all good now.

i think it's good to have a mix. the younger kids don't want to sit there and yawn through a bunch of hymns, and having up-tempo music can get people on their feet and clapping along so they can get into the worship (which IS what God wants). but the lyrics are what's important...you're NOT singing about human love/sex with up-tempo songs, so i really don't see what's wrong with having a few included in worship.
