Who Put The Benzedrine In Mrs Murphy's Ovaltine...by Harry (The Hipster) Gibson.
I'm 63, music had not yet been invented.
In later years, we discovered that banging our heads on different sized rocks gave different sounds.
So, I guess we invented the "Rock" genre of music.
It sounded kinda like, "Whack, bang, OW, whomp, GEEZ." (An early version of, "Ting tang, walla walla bing bang.")
Hope this helps.

'Ring around the rosy .......children all fall down.' Turns out it's a reference to an 18th or 19th century European plague, the ring being the shape of the sores (rosy).....children all fall down (DEAD).
........So utterly bizarre, I grew up to learn ! Makes you think twice about your way-back ancestors, and how in the late 1930s we were taught to sing such a ghoulish, even anguishing ditty. Br-r-r.
