I would have to disagree. I have known people in a bad marriage that cheated and the marriage eventually ended.

ADDITION: Just to clarify, I am not talking about what kids do when they are, well... kids! Children have no idea what committed relationships are. They are just kids, dating others. I am talking about adult relationships. Adults who cheat, are and always will be cheaters.
