no, i only give them money if they are doing something, like playing an instrument or something but when i worked in the city, i used to take a homeless guy leftover food after work, i don't like to give them money for the reason that i might be contributing to their drug or alcohol problems, am happy to buy them food or a drink though
I never do,especially if they were born in America. They speak English ,they can get a job. We're working hard for our money and all there doing is stand on the street corners asking for money. Most of the time when they do get money they end up buying beer.

I have on occasion and I even bought them McDonald's also. Sometimes I feel compelled to do so and at other times I recognize they are on their way to get Mad Dog and I say no!
thats why I dont do it...look at them! They have two arms.. two legs and most seem to be in shape(walkin around) and they are just lazy or depressed and need more than a hand out.. they need encouragement and hope..I only give to the ones with an arm or leg missing:) c ya!
I will give them gift certificates for food /clothing but that's it...no cash!

Not often. Too many are standing in front of the beer store or coming out of the park. It's hard to tell which ones are really sincerely needing a sandwich or just wanting to buy a cheap bottle of wine.
I give to charities, yes, and homeless people, I prefer to do community service by serving at the local soup kitchen through school...so I know they didnt spend my charity on beer.

Once I gave a homeless guy starbucks. No joke, I had starbucks, I had a homeless guy. No cash on me, didn't feel like carrying it around. So it was the obvious solution.
Yea I like to help out when i can, even if its a few dollars. I find it admirable when the homeless come right up to you and ask you for money for beer. It catches you off gaurd for sure!
