Old song, man. I would have to say, "false". According to the song, "I love you too much to ever start liking you, so don't expect me to be your friend", sounds like it's coming from a selfish heart. I think that a couple should be friends (in a sense) before they become "lovers", & going back to being "just friends" may be difficult, but not impossible for someone who really feels TRUE love.
