How do you feel about a Best Answer, given to you because it went into Voting ??!
Question: When you gave a great answer, and it stays there all by itself, for days, forgotten by the asker...Isn't that some kind of "bittersweet Victory" after all ?????

i feel cheated and like no one really cared
because its usually the first person to answer that gets picked by the voters

I agree with you - it's bittersweet. It's nice when the asker chooses it and leaves a nice response. The sad part about getting voted best answer is sometimes I was the one who voted for myself!
Yes it feels second class, kin of like opening a present and finding out it was re-gifted.

Well, If they are truly voting on what they think is the best answer, its cool. But 90 percent of questions in voting are people who vote for their own answers. Sad but true.
I don't mind it as much as I mind when I forget about a question and it goes into voting and the answer picked is the suckiest one on there. Happened 2 weeks ago and I'm still not over it.

"100%-1vote" means out of all the answers, that one solitary voter chose you.

Look at it this way it is like winning a contest...usually more than one person thought you had a good answer. I think of it as a "Sweet" victory myself.....

I will not be as happy as the ones that have chosen by asker.
I think it's sort of neat because it means that multiple people thought that your answer was the best, and not just one.
It's still as good as a best answer, because that just happened to me, I forgot to choose a best answer, and my question was in voting, and I still wanted to pick a best answer, and one got 100% of the votes, but I dunno if it'll come up as best answer yet...I hope it does, because people deserve 10 points for their insight.... =)

Good Morning to you,too !!!=) Yes, it is a bittersweet victory!!! That is one of the reasons I change which category of questions I was answering...................... Don't ever answer a question in Mental Health. Those guys NEVER rate their own questions. I'd like to think I was helping someone, But evidently,not !.............. I love getting feedback from the askers when I get a BEST answer. There are some very nice people on this site. I guess that's why I love it sooooo much!!!=)
morning:) ive had a few it doesnt bother me,sometimes i forgot i even answered one or two of them,not often tho.its still points that i never had before,that doesnt worry me either!
