I sure would hope so,But only if you mean it .As I have been surly let down by first impression.But ,I have found if the friendship last for a while ones true colors always comes out., and all that's Say's Lord, lord, don't really mean it..My mom taught me this when I chose some very UN-cool friends.
Her favorite lecture to me was "All that Glitters is not Gold"

I don't know if this would qualify as making a good first impression ... but I do my best to put others at ease when first encountered.
