I don't regularly donate money. Although I do occasionally. I do however regularly donate time and donate blood and platelets.

I used to.
I was a "good Christian" and gave 10% of my pay to charity.
I did that for years but I finally got tired of the endless "junk" mail and phone calls from different organizations looking for money.
Now when I donate, I donate money in a way where I don't have to worry about being pestered like that.
(Usually I put money into the Salvation Army kettles and other similar donation places like that..)
That way, the charity doesn't know your name, phone number, address, or anything about you.
That way, they can't hound you for more donations later...
