Are Platypuses related to beavers or cats ?!
Question: Neither actually. It is the sole living representative of its family (Ornithorhynchidae) and genus (Ornithorhynchus), and is venomous via a spur on the males leg. They are in fact mammals, but are "designed for water" with their webbed feet, and beaver like tail and lay eggs.
Here's a really good link:

or beaver, or cat or whatever he is. LOL
It is still a marsupial, therefore it is closer related to a Kangaroo than a beaver or a cat.
it is what you get when you cross a duck and a otter... an egg laying mammal
