Can you recommend a laptop brand for me please? Please read further for details.!

Question: I just want one for email, internet, and for school work(Im in college). I don't care for gaming or for photos or to watch DVD's. Im just not sure which brand to get. I wasnt sure if 2GB was good enough or if I need 4GB. I dont which brand would be better in the long run, HP, Sony, Toshiba, Dell, etc. Thanks for the help! I would also like to keep it under $1000

there's a great deal right now on these mini laptops call

asuse ..or something like that..i'll send the link to them asap..THIS LAPTOP IS PERFECT FOR YOU..its freaking 300 bucks and the guys who make it are the ones who make mac..the reviews of this machine (other than its small) are off the charts!! they are saying its the new thing in laptops. anyway...it was designed for someone exactly like you. again i'll send the link as soon as i can find it-just the other day it was a best by item on amazon and the price was 399 or 299 one of them but that's dirt cheap for the quality you are getting. give me a few hours to find the link..im' not at home so i can't locate it off the top of my head

XPS from dell i have one and it works excellently.

not compaq...but a HP is good

I have a Dell it works really well. It is a vostro and under 1,000 dollars.

if you want one one under $1000 then just go to your nearest circuit city or best buy and look for a compaq . . . . i work w/ a dell myself but have heard that compaq laptops work pretty good.

gl & peace!

Just for that, you do not even need 2GB of RAM. Mine is 1G and runs many programs smoothly... but it is a Macbook Pro. I would always recommend a Mac but they are more expensive. Go to Dell.com and you can build whatever kind of laptop you want for reasonably priced.

Are you talking about RAM? 2GB should be fine, and even 1GB would be okay if you don't plan on gaming.

Probably Dell.

Hp is a great brand, Toshiba is good. i bought a dell i like it it works really well but when something does go wrong believe it or not there customer service kinda sucks. but next i buy one i either going with Toshiba, Hp, or maybe, maybe Apple. if your just using it for school, and not gaming, or saving every digital photo you take, and movies and stuff then a basic and a 2gb should be fine. you should be fine budget wise, when i bought mine it started out at like $440 or $500 but i upgraded the sound, and memory and stuff cause i use mine for a little gaming, and every digital photo me, friends, or family has taken. lol and it still only ended up including shipping and handling, and insurance on shipping to be like $770 something.

dell and hp
