My apartment complex roof shingles flew off and broken the back window of my car!

Question: I am so confused because if they are not going to pay for it it will be 1240 to get it fixed. I didn't even pay that much for the car. It has a soft top, that's why is is so much of money. But if I was out there when it happened and it hit me, then what? Would things change or what. I am getting so frustrated with this situation. I have missed out on field trips with my baby and everything. The have already told me no they are not responsible, but I need to know what else if anything can I do? Please Help!!!!!

The responsibility lies with the landlord/owner or company who manages the property. Who said they wouldn't pay for it? what reasons do they give for not being responsibly for it? You'll need to prove it was a shingle from their property. Since you're obviously you're not in a position to involve a lawyer, you might muster a small crew of family and freinds to talk to the landlord together. Try to get all of it, but if not maybe you could bargian for at least half. Or, pay for the repair, if you have the means, and then sue them for reimbursement of what you spent plus court costs.

mine.

it is their fault for not keeping up with their apartments.

if I were you I would call the police and see what they say to do, or a lawyer. a lawyer would be better but police are free.

God

Blame him for making it windy

What you may want to try & do is investigate & see if there have ever been any complaints about the roof shingles coming off. If the roof shingles is something that the complex should've fixed but didnt, then they should be held responsible. Other than that, sadly there's nothing you can do cause the weather is something that cant be controlled

It is a pure accident.so no one is responsible.

You need to talk to the apartment owner's insurance company to file a claim. Don't waste your time haggling with the landlord, of course he'll tell you he's not responsible.

It is up to the owner to make sure the building is in good repair, and since it obviously was not, then they should be responsible for the damages.

I work at an insurance agency and I've heard of claims filed for a lot of goofy reasons.
